Genes do not lie
Breeder Franz Remmersmann from Hörstel had the right instinct when he chose Escolar as a partner for his mare Saphira by Sir Donnerhall. Escolar with a genetically proven multiple disposition and a blood connection to boot - a pairing of passers-by.
Versatile and ready to perform
Etienne's dam line has been nurtured by the Remmersmann family for generations. Many of the mares and their offspring have been highly successful in competition - in dressage, show jumping and, in some cases, eventing. Granddam Laureen, who descends from the Grand Prix-successful NRW state stud stallion Laurentianer by Lauries Crusador xx, is one example. This all-round talent is firmly anchored in the line and stands for attitude, sportiness, athleticism, stability and strength.
The first pairing of Saphira with Escolar resulted in a foal in 2014, who three years later became Riding Horse Bundeschampion - and one of the kind you never forget: Eternity. This gelding, who also won bronze at the 2021 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, impressed with his outstanding movements and natural balance. In 2019, Saphira gave birth to Eternity's full brother, who is in no way inferior to his brother and who can now be called our Escolar lineage holder: Etienne.
In dad's hoof prints
Due to the relationship, we had high hopes for Etienne right from the start and he has exceeded them all: age-appropriate victories in novice (A) and elementary (L) level tests for young riding and dressage horses and well above-average results in his sport test. As a four-year-old, he received a weighted final score of 8.55 and excelled with individual scores of 8.7 for trot, 8.8 for canter and 9.0 for rideability. This year, he was recommended for entry in Stallion Book I thanks to his victory in the qualifier for the Bundeschampionat with a final score of 8.26 (trot and canter: 8.8).
Promising offspring
Etienne went to stud for the first time in 2023. His first foal crop impressed us straight away - very blood marked, yet relaxed and with lots of movement mechanics. Etienne's children cannot deny the noble blood of the Grand Prix-successful half-breed Laurentianer by Lauries Crusador.
Etienne convinces with typey modernity and best rideability values. In 2022 Etienne passed a very good disposition test in Warendorf and was subsequently licensed on site. Ridden by Lisa Horler, he won a test for young riding horses in his first show season, impressively underlining his special quality. He was awarded the dream score of 9.0 four times. Etienne passed his sport test for 4-year-old stallions in March 2023 with a final score of 8.55 as the second best in the test lot. His individual scores also included an 8.7 for trot, 8.8 for canter and a 9.0 for rideability. He crowned his first start at advanced (A) level dressage horses with an immediate victory.
