Progenies

Bentheim will start his first breeding season in 2024, so that his first foal crop can be expected in the 2025 season.

"Charming as a person and ambitious in his work: it is a pleasure to work with Bentheim. His boundless talent is already making me look forward to the coming years."
- Danica Duen

Catalog number 1 of the Westphalian main licensing and at the same time number 1 of this year's stallion catalog: That can't be a coincidence! This young stallion is a real heart-thief and one of our most promising hopefuls for the future. Its impressive scope, powerful thrust from the hindquarters and pleasant interior are immediately convincing. But it was above all Bentheim's genetics that convinced us immediately: this stallion is a breeding jewel.

Jewel of the De Baey kennel

Gestüt Gut Neuenhof and the De Baey stud farm in Lemgo have long shared the same values and ideals of a modern riding horse. Bentheim's sire, Belvedere DB, already sprang from this pedigree; with Belissimo NRW and De Niro, he combines two stamp stallions and has already made a name for himself with his outstanding performance under Stefanie Wolf. Belvedere DB was already a finalist in the five-year-old class at the 2021 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Bentheim also comes from the Dodona mare line, one of the most successful mare lines in the world, which links him to our stallion Viva La Vida. Like Esperado, who won several Prix St. Georges under Katharina Hemmer, he goes back to the third generation of the mare Antine, who not only produced the sons Rubinstein I and II, but was also a full sister to the legendary Ahlerich. A real picture book pedigree with the predicate "performance blood".

Athletes with a heart of gold

Bentheim attracts attention with his great uphill movements, powerful underfoot hindquarters and flawless conformation. But his character is also convincing: he always seeks closeness to people, has a mischievous streak in his neck and yet is always ambitious and willing to learn. An exceptional athlete of the future!

Achievements

This still young stallion is currently being gently introduced to his tasks as an absolute raw jewel. He already caused a sensation at the Westphalian main licensing as catalog number 1 and convinced the licensing commission with his striking movement quality and type beauty. Bentheim proved that his interior also leaves nothing to be desired at the stallion show as part of the Agravis Cup in Münster 2024: presented in hand in accordance with his age, he showed his usual strong nerves and uncomplicated nature

Ancestry

Euphoria, emotions and success: this is what the successful Weissena and Dodona tribes stand for.

Bentheim’s sire Belvedere DB combines two absolute stamp stallions in Belissimo NRW and De Niro and has already made a name for himself with his outstanding performance under Stefanie Wolf. In 2021, he was a finalist in the five-year-old class at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses.

Bentheim’s sire Belvedere DB was already bred by De Baey and, like Viva la Vida, Bentheim also goes back to the Dodona mare line, one of the most successful mare lines in the world. Like Esperado, who won several Prix St. Georges under Katharina Hemmer, he goes back to the third generation of the mare Antine, who not only produced the sons Rubinstein I and II, but was also a full sister to the legendary Ahlerich. A real picture book pedigree with the predicate “performance blood”. Other Olympic legends such as Amon by Angelo xx and Rembrandt by Rosenkavalier also come from the successful Dodona family.

Other successful sport horses from this line include U2 by Jazz, Delilah Royal by Danone I and Don Angelo by Danone I: They are all international ambassadors who have made history in dressage sport. It was not for nothing that the Dodona line was considered the most successful dressage family in the world in the 1980s and 1990s. Countless licensed stallions also illustrate the hereditary power of these genetics. Examples include Bordeaux by United, Kaiser Franz by Krack C, Royal Angelo I and II by Rosenkavalier, Sergio Rossi by Sir Donnerhall I, Tesla by Vitalis and VIP by Krack C, to name but a few.
