Nikan’s Diamond

The CSI4* Hohen Wieschendorf hosted some of the country’s most prominent show jumpers at the weekend, including Olympic champion Christian Kukuk and the successful trio Sophie Hinners, Richard Vogel and David Will. Also at the start: Robert Conredel and the seven-year-old Nikan’s Diamond from Gestüt Gut Neuenhof. Once again, the stallion showed why people here see star qualities in him.

At just seven years old and his main occupation as a stud stallion, Nikan’s Diamond has not yet had much CSI experience, only twice to be precise. Hohen Wieschendorf was his third start in the international youngster tour and his first placing – although not his first clear round. Behind top riders with Olympic experience such as Marc Houtzager (NED), Marco Kutscher and René Tebbel with their future horses, Nikan’s Diamond placed eighth under Robert Conredel after two clear rounds in the round and jump-off. A success that confirms that we can rightly expect great things from this youngster. Given his origins, however, this is hardly surprising.

About Nikan’s Diamond

Nikan’s Diamond is a seven-year-old KWPN stallion by Kannan-Indoctro-Ahorn bred by J. Timmermans. Not only the sire’s line in Nikan’s Diamond’s pedigree is convincing, but also the dam Maraminka’s pedigree and her own performance.

Under her sport name Minka’s Diamond, she competed for the Netherlands in 1.60 meter Nations Cups. She is a representative of the Freiminka line, which originally comes from the Oldenburg breeding area. This family not only produced our most successful show jumping stallion to date, Cordess, but also dressage stallion Totilas. But also a whole series of other top horses such as Agana van het Gerendal Z (Lillie Keenan/USA), Sea Coast Guiness (Harrie Allen/IRL and Gudrun Patteet/BEL), Zernike K (Brianne Goutal-Marteau/USA) and others, all successful at 1.60 meter level.

In addition to his pedigree and eye-catching looks, Nikan’s Diamond impressed from the outset with his boundless ability. He plays with dimensions and is the kind of horse for whom an advanced (S) level course not only looks like an advanced (L) level course, but also feels like one. Every single gallop of this stallion is a small explosion of power. And where other horses run out of steam at the third obstacle of the triple combination, Nikan’s Diamond can really pull the trigger. He is also highly rideable and always focused. The best prerequisites for following in Cordess’ footsteps in sporting terms too.
