Caressini Sets the Standard for Westphalian Prizes

The Westphalian Horse Stud Book had invited buyers to its summer auction and put together a collection of 41 horses. From promising young horses just starting their training to internationally successful competition horses, there was a horse here for every type of buyer. The most sought-after horse was an S-level-placed daughter of Caressini.
Ivo Auer, from Wangen in Bavaria, knows how to breed good horses. Among others, the exceptional sire Cristallo I comes from his stable. And now, the latest top lot at the Westphalian auction, named Cellini.
For the 2016 breeding season with his mare Angel by Almox Prints J-Grannus-Zeus, Ivo Auer chose the former Bundeschampion and later internationally successful Caressini by Carento-Cassini I-Carthago, bred by Gestüt Gut Neuenhof and now based at the Maas J. Hell stud farm. The result of the pairing between Caressini and Angel was born in 2017—none other than Cellini.
She has several siblings who have enjoyed success at the S-level, and—like her sire before her—she worked her way up to the highest class with the riders at Beerbaum Stables, where she earned numerous ribbons at national and international competitions. Presented by Beerbaum Stables, she was thus one of the highlights of the Westphalian Horse Stud Book’s summer auction and was accordingly in high demand.
Regular customers from Belgium were the most persistent bidders. They purchased the mare for the auction’s top price of 48,000 euros, thereby securing the option to ride her away immediately.
