Caraldik is out of the first crop of Carento, who was bred on Gestüt Gut Neuenhof. His dam Helanka also produced the Bundeschampionat qualifier Black Jack, who is also owned by Gestüt Gut Neuenhof and who won jumping competitions at advanced (S) level as a seven-year-old.

Caraldik is successfully used in cross-country horse competitions.

In spring 2013 Caraldik was licensed in Lentföhrden.
