On June 24, the fifth of six mare performance tests of the Westphalian Studbook 2025 took place in Soest. Two home-bred three-year-olds from the Gut Neuenhof stud farm took part and presented themselves more than well. In the truest sense of the word.
Both mares received partial and overall scores of over 8.0. En Vogue’s performance was particularly pleasing. The Escolar daughter is the first foal of the former champion mare Gloria by Goldberg. Even when she was born, it was clear that there was something special in the straw. A few months under saddle, she has now confirmed this first impression with her trainer Gretel Schulze-Buxloh. In Soest, she received the highest score of all the participants, an overall score of 8.52, made up of 8.6 each for dressage and jumping. A look at the results of the other mare performance tests shows that En Vogue was the best dressage-bred mare in 2025.
The second test candidate from Gut Neuenhof Stud, Carina by Caressini-Cristallo, was also convincing across the board. Carina is a niece of premium stallion Cashmere. Her dam Cristalies is Cashmere’s full sister and already has a successful advanced (S) level son in Gut Neuenhof’s Columbo by Cornet Obolensky. The double disposition anchored in this line was reflected in an overall score of 8.3, which resulted from the 8.7 for jumping talent and 8.0 for dressage disposition. She was also presented by Gretel Schulze-Buxloh.
