What a performance by the four-year-old Esquire at the Oldenburg State Show in Rastede! The Escolar son first secured the HLP class with top marks and then the title of State Champion.
Time and time again, the Oldenburg stallion Esquire exceeds all expectations. They were high right from the start after the son of Escolar out of a Fürst Heinrich dam (breeder: Maria Burczyk) left the 2023 Oldenburg licensing as reserve winner and went to the Owerko-Iwicka family in Poland for 400,000 euros. But Esquire has more than lived up to them so far.
He had already impressed with a final score of 8.89 in his predisposition test at the beginning of the year. Now he had his first show appearance of the year at the Oldenburg State Show in Rastede, and here too he shone: two starts, two commanding victories – it doesn’t get any better than this.
Esquire had already won the 1st stallion performance test on Wednesday, which was also a qualifier for the championships for four-year-old Oldenburg stallions, with a score of 8.9. He then went one better in the final.
With a sensational score of 9.4, Esquire secured the blue and red sash of the national champion. The judges awarded each partial score at least “very good”: trot 9, walk 9, canter 9.5, type and quality of conformation 9.5, fulfillment of the criteria of the training scale: 10.0.
Congratulations to the owners, the breeder and of course the rider Eva Möller! And now on to the Bundeschampionat …
