The great influence of the Gut Neuenhof stamp stallion Escolar on dressage horse breeding in recent years could be seen once again at the Westfalen-Woche.
Half of the six finalists in the Westphalian Championships for three-year-old mares and geldings had Escolar in their pedigree, twice on the sire’s side and once on the dam’s side. These included the elegant Escolar daughter Elin R out of a Sir Donnerhall dam with Johanna Klippert in the saddle, one of the most eye-catching horses of Westfalen-Woche 2025, who not only presented herself under saddle, but was also crowned Elite Mare at the Elite Show. The R in the elegant bay’s name stands for the breeder and owner Franz Remmersmann.
This pedigree in combination with breeder Remmersmann may sound familiar to some. And that’s right, Elin R is the full sister to Etienne, the promising young sire of the Gut Neuenhof stallion station. And both horses are siblings of the former Bundeschampion and World Championship bronze medal winner Eternity.
The fact that Elin R is just as talented as her older brothers was demonstrated in Münster-Handorf. First she won her qualification for the final of the Westphalian Championships for three-year-old mares and geldings, then she took bronze in the final – and a ticket to compete at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. Congratulations!
