Cashmere’s Carat with second best performance test in Verden

18.12.2025

Cashmere’s Carat from the stallion station Gut Neuenhof placed second in a group of outstanding quality horses at the short disposition test in Verden and received scores well above the test average in all areas.

Even when Cashmere’s Carat was proclaimed premium stallion at the main licensing in Münster-Handorf in 2024, it was clear that this was a special stallion. Not only does he jump very well, he also has three good basic gaits and an outstanding attitude. He demonstrated all of this over the past two days at the two-day short licensing test in Verden, where he was presented by Anika Wilbers.

The weighted final score for the home-bred young sire from the stallion station Gut Neuenhof was 8.17. The canter, the most important gait of the show jumpers, was rated 8.2, the jumping ability 8.3, the rideability 8.2 and the willingness to perform 8.4. The picture was rounded off by a 7.8 for the walk and 7.0 for the trot.

The test committee was full of praise for the youngster: “A large-framed stallion with a big, powerful canter, always on the ball and working with concentration,” they began their commentary. They continued: “Generously cantering and equipped with a lot of power, he can also be led back and jumps the whole thing uphill towards the center of gravity.”

When assessing the jumping ability, the forehand technique was emphasized as well as the powerful jumping and the use of the body. “Despite his size, the stallion is agile. He knows how to use his front leg and his body well and can also manage a distance with four canter jumps well,” was the conclusion.

Cashmere’s Carat is a son of Cashmere (by Cristallo), one of the figureheads among the show jumping sires at the Gut Neuenhof stallion station. Cashmere’s Carat’s gray color comes from his dam, St.Pr.St. Helena by Hermes de Lux-Cassini I-Carthago. Helena is a half-sister to Westphalian and Bundeschampion Caressini, who ranks among the top 10 percent of show jumping sires in Germany, and to Cronau, who was also licensed. The line has produced numerous successful sport horses and licensed stallions, including the legendary Landadel. Sire, dam and son – all three were born at Gestüt Gut Neuenhof.
