The 2025 Bundeschampionate is history – one that the Gut Neuenhof stallions helped to write.
Escolar has once again made his mark on the Bundeschampionat. The Escolar son Esquire became the new Bundeschampion of four-year-old stallions. Esquire is out of a Fürst Heinrich dam (breeder: Maria Burczyk), was already Reserve Champion at the Oldenburg licensing in Vechta in 2023 and was one of the favorites in the Warendorf riding horse arena this year as Oldenburg State Champion. He lived up to this role. The compact bay, who is Polish-owned, won both the qualifier and the final, the latter with a 9.3 – 9.0 in trot, 9.5 in canter, 10.0 in walk and 9.0 for type and quality of conformation as well as age-appropriate fulfillment of the criteria of the training scale.
In addition to Esquire, Escolar had another iron in the fire in the final of the four-year-old stallions: Eaton of Westfalia CvM. The elegant Hanoverian chestnut (dam by Florencio) finished in fifth place under Sabrina Geßmann with a 7.9. The CvM stands for breeder and owner Ann Caroline von Möller. Her stallion is no stranger. In May 2024, Eaton of Westfalia had already won his short disposition test in Münster-Handorf. This year, he took bronze at the Hanoverian State Championships.
The Hanoverian-bred Escolar daughter Emmy Lou (dam by Fürst Heinrich), bred by Friedhelm Tito and owned by Anja Bernecker-Wegener, also had a great performance in Warendorf. Presented by Kira Laura Soddemann, the noble bay danced to sixth place in the final of the seven-year-old dressage horses with 76.376 percent.
Five years ago, Cashmere himself was a celebrated runner-up in the show jumping arena, and now he has produced a finalist in the five-year-old eventing class: Charissima RH, bred by Rudi Henn out of a Carabas dam and still owned by breeders. Anyone looking at the mare knows that Cashmere is the sire. His daughter has a lot of him. She showed this in Warendorf with a great eleventh place with Ben Leuwer in the saddle.
