Escolar-Festival for the three-year-old mares and geldings of the Westfalen-Woche

30.07.2025

Escolar, the top sire of the Gut Neuenhof stallion station, dominated the field of three-year-old mares and geldings in the qualifier for the Westphalian Championships in terms of both quantity and quality. Among others, he produced the winner, the full sister of the Gut Neuenhof young stallion Etienne.

Elin R is the name of the elegant bay who won the qualifier for the Westphalian Championships for three-year-old mares and geldings with Johanna Klippert in the saddle. The Escolar daughter received an overall score of 8.6, with an 8.5 for trot and canter and a 9 for walk and age-appropriate fulfillment of the training scale. Type and quality of conformation were worth a clear “good” to the judges.

The R behind Elin’s name stands for the breeder, Franz Remmersmann. In line with the motto “Never change a winning team”, he selected Escolar for his Sir Donnerhall daughter Saphira for the third time in 2021. And what had already produced the Gut Neuenhof offspring sire Etienne and previously the Bundeschampion and World Championship bronze medal winner Eternity has proven itself once again. Elin R demonstrated this impressively today in Münster.

Escolar is not only appreciated in the Remmersmann breeding stable. The Grand Prix-winning star sire can also be found in the pedigrees of the two three-year-olds who came fourth today with a combined score of 8.4: Enjoy by Escolar – Fidertanz (breeder: Barbara Baronesse von Ascheberg, rider: Heinrich Ramsbrock) under Hermann Burger and Destiny by Donier – Escolar (breeder: Hendrik Schulte-Märter, rider: BG Schulte-Märter/Schulze-Buxloh) with Sina Aringer in the saddle. The Escolar-daughter Europa from ZG Engel (breeder: Johannes Gaab) with Christina Winkler in the saddle was awarded a clear “good” in all categories. For Fun by For Dance, whose dam’s sire is Escolar, also scored an 8.0. Andrea Krehenwinkel is the breeder, owner and rider all in one.
