Viva La Vida will present its first vintage this season. We can hardly wait to welcome his offspring at foal shows and German auctions.

"The combination of two legendary mare lines makes Viva la Vida a breeding highlight. Anyone who wants to ensure breeding progress and values an outstanding stride will be delighted with Viva La Vida."
- Sandra Schürner

This beautiful chestnut stallion embodies pure joie de vivre, so his name "Viva La Vida" is hardly surprising. He already took hearts by storm in 2022; last season he was able to build on this fantastic first impression with a successful Münster-Handorf sport test and victory in his first test for young riding horses. But it is the genetic combination of two of the most successful mare families in the world that makes Viva La Vida so incomparable for us.

Weissena meets Dodona

Sire Viva Gold is not only currently in high demand as a sire. He also embodies the mating of the success-spoiled Vivaldi bloodline with the Weissena line, which has stood for agility and rideability for over a century and produced Olympic champion Weihegold OLD, among others. Viva La Vida in turn links this glorious family with the Dodona tribe. This is considered to be one of the most successful dressage lines in the world and produced, among others, the sires Rubinstein, Royal Angelo I and II, Romancier and Bordeaux, as well as Ahlerich, Rembrandt and Amon. Dam's sire Rosengold was crowned Vice State Champion as a four-year-old and qualified twice for the Bundeschampionat. The breeding of the thoroughbred Angelo xx rounds off the breeding "full house" of this unique pedigree. Viva La Vida unites the crown jewels of dressage horse breeding.

Modern athlete with strength of movement

In his basic training as a remonte, Viva La Vida is always willing to perform and intelligent. Equipped with the best basic gaits, beautiful type and a harmonious topline, he is an ultra-modern athlete. Viva La Vida knows how to inspire from the very first moment with his quality of movement and engaging interior and does credit to the highly successful Dodona line.

Achievements

Equipped with the best interior, Viva la Vida is a youngster that takes hearts by storm. His fine head and harmonious topline make him an absolute eye-catcher. While still clearly in development during the licensing, this raw jewel is now growing from day to day and unfolding his enormous potential. More and more, he reveals his brilliant quality of movement, with the stride in particular being a source of enthusiasm. Equipped with a strikingly correct foundation, Viva la Vida has everything it takes to ensure breeding progress.

In 2023, Viva la Vida was able to build on its previous breakthrough with a successful Münster-Handorf sports test. During the short test at the Westphalian Horse Center, his remarkably good walk was rewarded with an 8.5, the highest score of the entire test lot. The final score of 8.07 underlined Viva la Vida's sporting quality. The stallion underlined this impressively once again with his first victory in a test for young riding horses.

Ancestry

Euphoria, emotions and success: this is what the successful Weissena and Dodona tribes stand for.

Viva La Vida’s sire Viva Gold is the talk of the town with his first crop and, in addition to the current champion stallion in Westphalia, has produced two reserve winners and several premium stallions at German licensing. Viva Gold combines the performance-proven Vivaldi bloodline with the famous Weissena line, whose roots go back to the 19th century. A number of glorious representatives come from this family, above all Olympic gold medal winner Weihegold OLD.

Dam’s sire Rosengold, qualified twice for the Bundeschampionat in his younger years, was highly placed in dressage competitions up to S*** before he was sold to Australia.

Great-grandsire Donnerschwee, one of the most successful sons of the legendary Donnerhall, was himself successful up to and including Grand Prix. The connection to the thoroughbred legend Angelo xx provides toughness and refinement.

But it is especially the mating with the Westphalian line of Dodona by Donar from the House of de Baey that stands out in view of Viva La Vida’s pedigree. With Ahlerich by Angelo xx, Amon by Angelo xx and Rembrandt by Rosenkavalier, three absolute Olympic legends come from the successful Dodona family. Other successful sport horses from this line include U2 by Jazz, Delilah Royal by Danone I and Don Angelo by Danone I: They are all international ambassadors who have made history in dressage sport. It was not for nothing that the Dodona line was considered the most successful dressage family in the world in the 1980s and 1990s. Countless licensed stallions also illustrate the hereditary power of these genetics. Examples include Bordeaux by United, Kaiser Franz by Krack C, Royal Angelo I and II by Rosenkavalier, Sergio Rossi by Sir Donnerhall I, Tesla by Vitalis, VIP by Krack C and finally none other than Rubinstein I and II by Rosenkavalier.

Without question. With the connection of the success spoilt Dodona family and the dam line of the Olympic Champion Weihegold, Viva La Vida unites the absolute elite of dressage sport in his pedigree.
